Revitalisation of the Galaxie Outdoor Terrace

The revitalisation of the outdoor terrace at the Galaxie shopping centre turns an unused forecourt into a pleasant place to sit. The aim was a terrace people can stay on — one that extends the time spent on site and makes the route nicer for passers-by. The design works with a light pergola, gravel and paved surfaces, mobile greenery in large planters and outdoor furniture in muted tones. The planting separates the terrace from foot traffic and at the same time gives shade and a screen. The space is flexible. The seating can be rearranged for the weather and the footfall, from coffee through lunch to an early evening. The materials are outdoor-grade, durable and easy to maintain. The visualisation shows that even a secondary outdoor area can become a full, presentable place.
