Apartment House near Zurich

Residential Concept study
This study for an apartment house above Zurich was made for a sloping site with an open view over the landscape. The architecture rests on a clean white volume, a concrete base and generous glazing that anchor it into the terrain. The massing is deliberately calm and horizontal. A softly turned corner and long window bands lighten the building and open it to the view, while the concrete plinth holds it firmly in the slope. The driveway and built-in garage belong to the composition from the start, not as an add-on. Inside, the study works with dark stone, timber and subdued light. Against the bright exterior that contrast is intentional, and it gives the living spaces intimacy and depth. The visualisation pins down the character, proportions and atmosphere of the house before construction begins.
